ABOUT
Sterling Heights, MI (North Location)
A Stunning Place to Live, Work, and Access ABA Therapy
Sterling Heights is a bustling city located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. With about 130,000 people, it is the fourth most populous city in the state. But despite its large population, Sterling Heights has been able to maintain a small-town feel and is known as a safe and welcoming community.
This suburb is a popular destination for families to settle down in thanks to its rich history, strong family support, appeal for school-aged children, a strong sense of community, and a plethora of natural beauty and public land to explore.
If you're an outdoor enthusiast, the Sterling Heights Nature Center is a must-see stop in the city. This center encompasses more than 200 acres of wetlands, woodlands, and grasslands and provides the perfect setting to learn about the local ecosystem. Educational programs and events at the nature center help educate, engage, and inspire kids to build skills, strengthen communication, and form connection within the community while taking care of nature in their community and the planet at large.
After a long day of learning, you can take the kids to the Dodge Park Splash Pad to relax and cool off. The splash pad area is open from May to September, and these spaces can also help with transitions between activities, but there are also playgrounds, walking trails, and picnic areas you can enjoy all year long.
You can get a taste of Sterling Heights by exploring the local farmers market every Sunday. Here, you can find a wide variety of locally grown produce, homemade snacks and baked goods, handmade crafts, and collectible objects.
Alternatively, you can learn about the rich history of the city by visiting the Upton House Museum. Depending on the day, you may also be able to catch a show at the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre.
No matter what brings you to Sterling Heights, the strong sense of community and plethora of parks, entertainment, history, and dining spots support children's growth and will keep you around for a while.
