What began as a single Speech-Language Pathologist providing speech therapy has grown into one of the region's leading multidisciplinary pediatric therapy providers. Today, MetroEHS offers comprehensive pediatric services including:

MetroEHS was established in 2001 by Lori Shaffer Clarke, M.A., CCC-SLP/L, a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, under the original name Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center, Inc. The organization began by serving homeschool families and quickly earned a reputation for providing individualized, developmentally appropriate therapy that puts children and families first.
As the need for pediatric therapy services grew throughout Southeast Michigan, the organization expanded and rebranded as MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy in 2014 to better represent its comprehensive services and growing community impact.
Today, MetroEHS proudly serves families through Neighborhood Therapy Centers across Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. Our clinics provide convenient access to expert pediatric therapists who specialize in helping infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents overcome developmental challenges and reach their highest potential.

Since DSSC Inc.’s inception, our charter is to provide the highest quality speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychological services for individuals from infancy through adulthood. Our team of therapists assists clients in areas of speech, handwriting, central nervous system alignment (sensory integration therapy), feeding, fine and gross motor coordination, and social skills. Our professionals also provide tutoring services and ABA therapy services to children who are on the autism spectrum. Programs offered at DSSC Inc. include Handwriting without Tears®; Interactive Metronome®, a computer-based program to improve motor control and cognition; Fast ForWord®, a computer-based speech language therapy program; and Brain Gym®.
Individuals with developmental delay, apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are just a few of the clients who benefit from our therapy services.
